Tips for Exercising as a Senior

February 24, 2015

The American Council on Exercise recently released some simple information for Seniors who are considering starting an exercise routine.

Is it too late for you to start exercising?

It is not. You will enjoy many more health benefits if you're active.

If you have any medical conditions, speak with your doctor about exercises that are safe for you.

There are a number of joint-friendly exercises available. Such as swimming, water aerobics, elliptical machines, rowing, and biking. Also, speak with your doctor about jogging and walking for healthier bones.

Also, be sure to start exercising slowly. Work up gradually to thirty minutes per day, a majority of days of the week.

Even if you are at a healthy body weight, you still do need to exercise.

If you are hoping to save money. Just start walking. Walking is great for your health and FREE!
